Meet Fernando Martinez

Hi, I’m Fernando Martinez! Over the past 28 years, I have given thousands of golf lessons; teaching a range of golfers from club champions, aspiring collegiate golfers, to your ordinary weekend golfers. My students experience immense improvements in their game, like many who went from scoring in the high 90’s to the low 70’s.

Since 1997, I have been a leading golf instructor in Northern Virginia. My path as a golf instructor began at the Nicklaus Academy, where I worked 2 years as a lead instructor. Next, I transferred to Mid-Atlantic Golf in Kingstowne, VA. From there, I went on to be the Director of Instruction at Top Golf – Alexandria, VA, then an instructor for Raspberry Golf Academy.

My journey with golf began at age 31, and I turned pro within 7 years. I have developed extensive knowledge in swing mechanics, club fitting, and biomechanics. I am Golf Fitness Certified; giving me the ability to evaluate a player’s physical readiness. With my certification in Golf Fitness and background in biomechanics, I have coached golfers to success by teaching swings that achieve their goals and match their physical abilities

Swing Philosophy

Golfers should understand and improve their swing by applying a repeatable movement to their unique physical abilities. Like throwing a football or hitting a baseball, the golf swing is one movement. For a golf swing, it is about utilizing key muscles to control the movement of the golf club. It is not necessary to change a person’s whole swing, but to add proper body movements is key. In addition, having a clear thought process and the correct mentality attribute to success.
